Ginger was only 6 months old at the time and had been a Christmas present to a family with small children. After 3 months the family decided to give Ginger to Scottie Rescue. Tha Gingerbread Girl is also the model for our "scottie days of summer" t-shirt!

| On July 21, 2007, my sweet little Sunshine Girl
was diagnosed with a rare and fast spreading cancer called Malignant
Histiocytosis. The Animal
Diagnostic Center in Dallas confirmed that Ginger had a large tumor
growing on the base of her heart which was rapidly filling her chest
cavity, putting pressure on her lungs and also compressing her aorta.
Because the primary tumor was located on her heart, surgery was not an
option. My sweet, brave Gingerbread Girl claimed her wings on August 12, 2007. Ginger was an absolute joy, a ray of bright sunshine and the center of my world. Tha Gingerbread Girl October 17, 1999 - August 12, 2007 |
