AROOOOs from Tas Ginsberg MacGregor!

Tas' fight against bladder cancer.

In December, 2001, Tas was diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC).
Tas was scheduled for bladder surgery on Jan. 3rd, 2002 at DVSC in Dallas, TX.
The t
umor was successfully removed, but another smaller mass was located
near the trigone (neck area) of the bladder. This area was debulked but not contained.
On Jan. 8th, 2002, Tas was examined by Dr. Cheryl K. Harris, an oncologist with the
Veterinary Specialists of North Texas. An ultrasound and blood workup determined
that Tas was a good prospect for chemo treatment. Tas was given his first chemo
treatment - 2.85 mg of Mitoxantrone. Tas did not show any negative side effects
from the chemo treatment.

Tas had his next check up on January 30th, 2002. He had an ultrasound and the results showed a 50% DECREASE in the cells near the trigone area! Tas received his second chemo treatment.

On Feb. 27th, 2002, Dr Harris conducted another ultrasound & blood workup on Tas.
The results were clear! Tas' cancer is gone and he is in REMISSION!

Tha Tasmeister, summer of 2002

UPDATE 6/3/2002: An ultrasound revealed two small masses on the lower bladder wall near the trigone area. Tas received his 3rd chemo treatment today.
His next check up will be on June 26th.
UPDATE 6/26/2002: The ultrasound was clear and showed no signs of cancer!
UPDATE 12/2002: Tas' cancer is back. He had 2 chemo treatments (3 weeks apart) and his cancer was again in remission.
Tas stayed in remission from January 2003 until October 2003.

UPDATE 11/13/2003: The cancer is back and it is now resistant to treatment. We enjoy our daily walks and Tas continues to eat and play as normal. We are taking it one day at a time.
TAS' DIET: Flint River Ranch kibble mixed with raw veggies, Missing Link & organic yogurt, Spirulina & Barley Grass tabs (wheat grass, parsley, kelp, lecithin), freshly ground golden flaxseed, milk thistle, Sam-E and sardines (omega oils).
Tas takes 5 mg of piroxicam (mixed with plain yogurt) one hour after dinner.
UPDATE 1/2/2004: Tas lost his battle with cancer today. He is now running and playing across the Rainbow Bridge. We love and miss you, Tas.

Special Thanks to DOUGAL'S FUND for giving Tas a new leash on life.
